The perpetually long queue at Fortitude is no mystery. Intrigued, I recently paid a visit and was instantly transported to pastry heaven. While they did not have any croissants (gasp!), the almond pastry was an incredible substitute. It was the butteriest, flakiest pastry I’ve ever tasted, simply melting in my mouth. This place is a must-visit. Grab a coffee and pastry, find a bench outside, and savor the perfect morning.

This trendy bakery boasts four London locations and serves up an impressive array of pastries, biscuits, cakes, and breads. Contrary to the pretentious reputation it sometimes gets, I found the atmosphere quite welcoming. The Shoreditch branch is tiny, so expect a queue, but their other locations offer more space. With a Michelin Guide mention, it’s definitely worth a visit and don’t forget to try their coffee – it won’t disappoint.

The Shoreditch branch is easily one of my favorites in London. With its high ceilings and large windows, it’s the perfect spot for a leisurely breakfast or lunch. The coffee is exceptional, but I was also blown away by their mushroom on toast – an absolute delight. Everything else on the menu looked equally tempting. Grab a seat at the counter and enjoy the perfect meal!

You might just bump into me here if you ever visit. I never understood the NYC bagel hype until I braved the 30-minute queue to try these legendary bagels. The “Everything” bagel with jalapeño cream cheese and the chicken salad bagel were absolute game-changers. To avoid long lines and sold-out bagels, arrive early on weekends. There’s only limited seating, so grab a bagel to go and enjoy it in nearby Primrose Park.
